From the five elements, the three doshas are derived - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Known as mind-body types, the doshas express particular patterns of energy - unique blends of physical, emotional, and mental characteristics.
In Ayurveda, health is defined as the dynamic state of balance between mind, body, and environment. It is possible for each of us to achieve and maintain a vibrant and joyful state of health by identifying our mind-body type and then creating a lifestyle that sustains and nurtures our unique nature. Take the Dosha Quiz and determine: “What’s my dosha?” If more than one quality is applicable in each characteristic, choose the one that applies the most.
The Chopra Center Dosha Quiz gives you an inquiry into the proportion of each of the three principles - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha -- within your unique mind body constitution. Your score in Part I of the dosha quiz reflects your basic nature. These characteristics tend to change slowly over your lifetime. The principle that received the highest number of checks is the most predominant force in your overall mind body make-up. The principle that received the next highest number of checks is the secondary force in your constitution. The lowest scoring principle, while still an active force in your mind body physiology, is the least dominant in your particular constitution.
Part II of the Quiz will help you determine your current Mind-Body State. To achieve and maintain a vibrant and joyful state of health you must live to nurture the dynamic state of balance between mind, body and environment. These questions are intended to assess your current life situation, including any stresses, illnesses or life changes. Answer these questions according to what is most true for you now or since this new stress or pattern has emerged and we will give you the tools to get your dosha back to balance.
